Welcome to Kilnwood Alpacas and Accoyo-Europe

Kilnwood Alpacas is located on the eastern edge of the Cotswolds, midway between Oxford and Banbury, close to the M40 and easily accessible from all parts of the UK.

Our first alpacas arrived in 1999 and were the typical ‘unimproved’ females that were then available. Since then a policy of investing in very high quality stud males from Peru, America and Australia, complemented by the purchase of some excellent females, has resulted in a herd of alpacas that has certainly made its mark in the show ring in the last few years. Kilnwood’s Sir Perceval was Supreme Champion Huacaya in 2006 at both the BAS National Show and the Royal Bath & West. The following year he won Champion fleece at the BAS National and the Royal Show (we did no halter showing in 2007).

Specialising in Huacayas, the herd is predominantly white and fawn in colour but also includes some darker animals. We usually have a few females for sale pregnant to one of the outstanding Kilnwood males. In addition we sell geldings for new owners wanting alpacas as picturesque pets and occasionally young males of a high enough standard that they are sold as potential herd sires.

Alongside the Kilnwood herd we also breed pure Accoyo alpacas. These animals are all registered under the Accoyo-Europe name. It is still a small group and with such a limited number there are only very few of these high quality animals for sale each year, and unlikely to be of interest to any but the most serious alpaca breeders.

Although we have made great steps in the last nine years we can also remember what it was like thinking about buying alpacas, having no livestock experience, and taking delivery of the first small group. If you are new to alpacas, or perhaps you want to add some excellent genetics to your existing herd or are thinking of buying that stud male that will make all the difference - come and talk to us, we’re happy to discuss your requirements, show you our alpacas and give totally impartial advice.

Should you decide to go ahead and purchase alpacas from the Kilnwood or Accoyo-Europe herds we will also provide full after sales support and can arrange agistment, stud services and shearing.
